CHAS stands for the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme. It is a leading accreditation that verifies your business’s compliance with health and safety legislation.
CHAS accreditation demonstrates to potential clients that you meet industry standards, helping you win more contracts and streamline tendering processes.
There are three CHAS accreditation levels:
The right level depends on your client’s requirements or your business goals. At Beaconrisk, we provide fast and affordable CHAS accreditation support. Looking for other accreditations? We also support SafeContractor, Constructionline, and more.

To become CHAS accredited, you need to register with CHAS, provide company details, and complete assessments. We help you with all of this. We’ll work with you from start to finish to give you the best chance of gaining CHAS accreditation.
When you have sent your application and completed the necessary assessments, you will be given an assessor who will review your application to decide whether or not your CHAS accreditation application is successful. This process can take time, but traditionally, you should expect anywhere upwards of 48 hours to receive feedback.
Once you have your CHAS accreditation, this will last you 12 months and will need to be renewed each year. It is worth noting that existing accreditation companies can renew their accreditation before it runs out. The best yet is that this can be scheduled to be completed a couple of months in advance.
